About Me
A polyglot professional graduated with a bachelor's in print/digital journalism at the University of Central Florida.
I wrote for Nicholson Student Media and Knight News, reporting news stories involving the University of Central Florida and the community. I developed stories covering topics from public issues to live entertainment. I also write for my travel Instagram, which reached over 100k followers, millions of views, and monthly impressions between 100k and 1 million.
As a volunteer assistant director for TEDx Miami since 2023, I support the overall planning, coordination, and execution of the live event. I supervise and support production teams, including stage managers, technical crews, and set designers, delegating tasks and responsibilities to team members. I conduct the team meetings, manage rehearsals and provide feedback to speakers. I also oversee the stage setup, such as props, lighting, test audio with the speakers, and ensure the stage setup aligns with the event's theme and requirements. I manage and coordinate the transitions of speakers and hosts on and off the stage during the live show to ensure a smooth operation and promptly addressing technical issues to minimize disruptions.
In 2022 and 2023, I volunteer for Knightly News as a newsroom assistant and 2022 summer I interned as a reporter for Watermark Magazine, where I still work as a freelancer. Also, In 2022, NASA opened up an application for media credentials to cover the Artemis I launch, and I was the only UCF student approved by NASA to cover the launch on-site.
During my course at UCF, I was the social media and outreach coordinator for one of the honor societies I am a member of - Tau Sigma.
I monitored different Social Media platforms, identifying trends and encouraging members' engagement. I was responsible for resolving members' concerns via social media or answering further questions about events and scholarships. When I took control, the professional dashboard counted less than 300 weekly views. Under my management, visualization jumped to a range between two and three thousand views per week.
One main task was attending the e-board weekly meeting to discuss and plan the duties/events for the week. I was responsible for creating posts to announce the following Tau Sigma events, attending them to take pictures, and updating the website, such as the photo gallery tab.
Also, I was one of the 10 UCF students recommended and selected as an advisor for the Transfer Students Advisory Council. We advised a group of UCF leaders to address issues of importance for transfer student success and worked closely with the UCF President, Alexander Cartwright. The team met monthly to discuss and anticipate problems with new and actual transfer students and find resolutions to these issues.
Originally from Brazil, I have lived in the United States for almost 10 years. I am proficient in Portuguese and English. Also, I speak intermediate Spanish and learning Italian.
Previously, as a cruise ship entertainer, I traveled the world and acquired new visions and perspectives from exposure to different cultures, understanding the diversity portrayed in our society.
My skills include language, reporting, writing for print and digital, production, data journalism, video and photo editing, photography, videography, and social media management.
